REP. O.K. CHINDA RECEIVES GRADUANDS OF HIS TRAIN THE TRAINER CHALK PRODUCTION AND SNAIL FARMING SCHEME


Graduands of the pilot scheme of the train the trainer Human Capital Development Training on Chalk Production and Snail Farming paid a courtesy visit to their sponsor Rep. O.K Chinda; member representing Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives to thank him for equipping them for the future and teaching them how to catch the fish themselves.
 
This is the pilot scheme of the training which is going to cut across the 17 wards of his constituency.
It will be recalled that Rep. O. K. Chinda in 2014 sent some youths (indigenes and non-indigenes) of Obio/Akpor to Ibadan polytechnic to learn commercial chalk production and snail farming. During their presentation of certificates at the Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, he made a promise of Five Hundred Thousand Naira each (N500, 000) to any one of them that will successfully train others.
In line with the above promise, the honourable member said he will redeem that Five Hundred Thousand Naira (500,000) pledge to the instructor Mr. Obinna Osonta for successfully training and graduating this ones.
 
The member also promised to pay the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Naira each to the graduands which was submitted as budget to start their individual businesses of the chalk production or snail farming, as he also promised them an additional Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N250,000) if they also embark on training others.

He also advised them to put more efforts to see to the success of their business, informing them that so many rich men in the world today started even smaller, using late Chief M.K.O Abiola as example whom he said sold groundnut in the North.
 
Rep. O.K. Chinda said this is one of the ways he can pay back for the support he got from the people as he promised to continue delivering the dividends of democracy.
The students thanked him and promised to apply the knowledge gained from the training and also train others.
Samples of the chalk produced by graduands was also presented.
The event took place on the 11th of September, 2016 at his country home in Elelenwo.
