A civil society group had last week sent two separate petitions to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on the siphoning of state resources by Chinedu.
A few days ago, the governor's son was exposed for initiating and forcing political appointees and top civil servants in the state to join his secret society in order to secure their employment.
Our source gathered that Governor Orji had mandated ministries, parastatals and agencies in the state to release and pay a fixed sum of money on a monthly basis into a private company account (owned by Chinedu) in a new generation bank under the guise of funding political activities of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
According to an official of "Abia Group for Good governance", the governor and his cronies had milked Abia dry to the extent that the incoming government will not be able to cope due to the debt exposure of the state. Abia state is backward in terms of infrastructure. Contracts are not awarded on merit but on personal relationship or membership of occultic societies headed by the governor's son.
An official of EFCC who spoke under condition of anonymity confirmed receipt of several petitions accusing the governor and his son of fraudulent acts.
Efforts to reach the governor's son proved abortive as his phones were switched off.
