Protest Breaks Out in Rivers Office of Total Nigeria

A peaceful protest is ongoing now in front of the Total Nigeria Plc, office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The protest allegedly came as a surprise to the authorities with the oil multinational company. The protesters were said to be the people of Egi in Rivers State.

The people of Egi are said to be unhappy with the failure of the oil company to implement the Memorandum of Understanding reached between the community and the foreign oil giant.

The number of protesters were reported to be high and intense. The security agents in the area are said to have scrambled for additional enforcement to avert the breakdown of law and order.
