Gbemi Saraki Joins Guber Race, Vows to Bail Kwarans Out of Broken Electoral Promises

The daughter of the late Kwara State political icon and former senator representing Kwara central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Senator Gbemisola Rukayat Saraki, yesterday declared her intention to seek the governorship position of the state on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the next general election. She had contested the last governorship election on the platform of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) but lost to the incumbent governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed.
She later returned to the PDP which she left when his brother, Senator Bukola Saraki dumped PDP for APC.

Iyiola Oyedepo, in Ilorin dated October 6, a copy of which was made available to journalists in Ilorin yesterday, said she was contesting for the plum position of the state so as “to lead the state out of its present state of hopelessness and stagnation.”
