Barring any unforeseen circumstance, Prophet TB Joshua founder and
General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN will on
Monday 13 October appear before a judicial panel, set up by the Lagos
State government to look into circumstances surrounding the collapse of a
six-storey building, that killed over 115 people, 86 of them South
African tourists in his church located in Ikotun, Lagos State.
The panel is expected to start sitting on Monday at the Lagos State High court, Ikeja, Lagos State.
It was gathered that all the parties involved have been summoned to appear before the panel when it begins sitting.
The
Lagos State government is alleging that the cause of the collapse is on
the building agents, who did not get approval to erect the structure.
Lagos State also hinged the cause of the collapse to structural deficit as the building was originally a two-storey building.
While
responding to an allegation made by the Lagos State government that the
collapse building was originally a two-storey building, Joshua’s church
stated that building was approved for a 12-storey building and that the
building was strong enough.
TB Joshua shortly after the building
collapse made several claims that the building was demolished with
explosives. He also blamed an aircraft that hovered over the building
four times as a possible cause for the collapse.
It was on the
strength of the controversy that the state government set up the panel
to actually find out the cause of the collapse.
