Jide Kosoko, Ashaolu, Fight Dirty Again Over N3B Nollywood Grant

Since the announcement of a N3billion Nollywood grant by President Goodluck Jonathan, Nollywood has not known peace again.

This is because the President's largesse has torn the industry apart. While some badly need the money for their selfish and personal use, others need the money to judiciously use in taking Nollywood to the next level.
On Saturday, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and her counterpart in the Culture Ministry, Edem Duke, were in Lagos to mediate on ways to disburse the grant.

Trouble started between Jide Kosoko, erstwhile president of Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) and Victor Ashaolu, who is still in court over the association presidency with Dele Odule, when Ashaolu sent a BlackBerry broadcast alleging that Jide Kosoko was not allowed in the meeting because he (Ashaolu) was the only recognised ANTP leader.
In a counter-attack, some youths in support of Jide Kosoko dispelled Ashaolu's claim saying Jide Kosoko is still their leader because Ashaolu's matter has not yet been decided in court.
It was reliably gathered that Jide Kosoko was allowed in the meeting based on self recognition by the Minister.
The two leaders have become 'cat and rat' overthe presidency of ANTP.

Stella Damasus Suspected of Infidelity Leading to Her Hubby's Death?

I've received different messages on this controversial issue in the past but I ignored them because too many names were mentioned and most of them are popular people that you would expect wont do such. However, the matter was brought to the fore again recently.

As soon as news broke that Actress Stella Damasus got married to Deniel Ademinokan outside the shores of Nigeria, the matter surfaced again. But this time from insiders also...
The gist at the disposal of The Gist Plus is too dirty so we'll try to "refine" it and just take only the side of relatives of the late Jaiye Aboderin. Our source said it is strongly believed that Stella was cheating on him with "some actors" and that a member of the family even "saw" something. This, it is alleged, contributed to the heart problem that killed her first husband.

But how true are these allegations?
Late Jaiye Aboderin's elder sister,

Wunmi Obe dropped a bombshell as soon as she heard that Stella has snatched Doris Simeon's husband. See her tweet below and try to read between the lines:

Infidelity: Actress Jennifer Eliogu Opens Up On Her Troubled Marriage

Years after she left her husband in Switzerland and returned to Nigerian, busty Nollywood actress, Jennifer Eliogu has been living alone like a single mum. Story that her husband has even chased her from his home due to infidelity on her part also trended on the social media.

But the babe seems to be getting her grove back, with or without her husband. In a recent chat, she speaks on Nollywood's current state and the 'trouble' in her marriage:
“I couldn’t return to acting under the prevailing circumstance. The industry I met when I came back was not the same industry I knew before I went to Switzerland. We had an industry where scripts had redeeming moral perspectives, where the craft was taken very seriously, and you had to impress the directors that you could hold your own among the best.
“We had story lines that were family friendly, where nudity or sexually explicit scenes and language were not tolerated. But alas! – the industry I met when I came back was one where young starlets are given roles, based on glamour, on beauty and where the main motivation is not to add value, but to use their celebrity to advance other interests. Most of these starlets lack talents but would parade their looks at auditions while wearing very skimpy dresses that leave nothing to the imagination.
"When you dress in such a provocative manner, you are essentially tempting the director – you are advertising your sexual attributes over your talents and you are exposing yourself to other things.”
Asked if her marriage has indeed collapsed she said: “It is not true. We are still married, but I have already told you we have challenges and we are working around those challenges.”
Jennifer however failed to disclosed the said "challenges".

REVEALED! My Mum Encouraged Me Into Prostitution; Says Kaffy Dancer Queen

Everyone has a story to tell, but some stories are really sad: When they say wonders shall never end, some people may not readily understand until they hear some life testimonies that leave the mouth agape, such is the candid disclosure of popular dancer, Kafayat popularly known as Kaffy.

Hate her or love her, Kaffy, the dance queen is not moved, neither is she going to deny the fact that she was once encouraged into prostitution by her own mother...
I hear she dropped the bombshell about how she almost went into prostitution, following her mother's words, just so they could make ends meet, in an emotion-laden voice. The talented dancer revealed this while she was addressing a group of youths at a programme recently.
She encouraged those at the event to read between the lines so they won’t be gullible, because, according to her, sometimes the people you look up to may be the ones that will lead you astray.
She believes that any one can became great if they work hard, using herself as an example.

Breast Tube Saga! ‘How My Boobs Popped out on Stage’ – Singer Omawumi reveals

omawumi
In a male dominated industry like the Nigerian music industry, first runner-up at the Idol West Africa, Omawumi Megbele, has proven to be a force to be reckoned with for both her music and choice of outfits.

When it comes to dressing, Omawumi mostly rocks short gown which barely covers the whole of her thighs and at some instances, the shoulder region of her body is always exposed. This sometimes revealed her boobs.

While some believe she does that intentional to stir controversies, others believe Omawumi is only proud being a woman, which she attests to in a recent interview. Evidence is on this picture...

Answering a question on why her boobs popped out at an event, the Delta State-born singer revealed that, “because I have small shoulders and my boobs are actually beautiful, I tend to wear revealing upper body dresses.”

She added that, “when you are looking at the mirror, you are not well as tall as to see how troublesome it could be. That dress has feathers in the front of it and before I left my hotel room, I asked someone if the dress was okay and she said yes.”

See the picture of the Omawumi's popped out breast on stage titled "My Shame: How My Brèast Popped Out On Stage -Omawumi Opens Up"on our Monday, April 22, 2012 post. ...
Continuing, Omawumi stressed that, “so, I wore the dress to the show and when I was performing at the show, of course, paparazzi took my pictures and released them. I realized that my boobs were practically pouring out of my dress, there was no way I could have put my boobs back.”

Poor Omawumi. She gave us quite a show though. Lol

25 Year Old DJ Shot Dead In Lagos

The residents of Bank Olemoh Street, Surulere, Lagos, were terrified on Monday when two gunmen shot dead Olamide George, a 25-year-old deejay.

According to eyewitnesses, the assassination was carried out at about 2pm while George was with friends under a tree, popularly known as Abe Igi.

It was learnt that just before his murder, George reportedly answered a phone call, and the caller requested to know where he was. George answered that he was at Abe Igi.

George’s father, Mr. Gbolahan George, said, “I was told that the assassins were four and were in Keke Maruwa (tricycle). They parked at the entrance of the street; two got down and walked to where Olamide was sitting with his friends. The one with the gun did not know him, so the other person who accompanied him pointed at Olamide.

“Immediately Olamide was identified, he was shot in the head and the chest.”

“I was called around 2:30pm and was told that my son’s body was at the morgue in Lagos University Teaching Hospital. He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. I reported the case at Area C Police Command.”

Gbolahan George said his son was not of a dubious character.

“He is a DJ, and not a scammer. And he is very gentle and pleasant. He wanted to write JAMB and get into Lagos State University.

“Olamide was also about to wed his girlfriend, Yetunde Adeyeri, who is five months pregnant before his untimely death. And that was why I gave him N500,000 to rent a one-room self-contained apartment at Apapa Road.”

Our correspondent saw family members cleaning blood stains from Olamide’s Golf Volkswagen car with number plate, LND 879 AG.

The Chairman of CDA, Bank Olemoh Street, Mr. Wilson Ojei, said, “I know Lamide as an easy young man trying to survive. Nobody had any complaints about him except for the occasional youthful exuberance, which is common among other young men in the community. From indications, the attack was not from within the community; the assassins were outsiders.

“We have been instructed by the police to cut the tree at Abe Igi.”

The police spokesperson, Lagos State, Ms. Ngozi Braide confirmed the incident. She said, “The case was reported to Area C Police Command. We are investigating the killing and I can assure you that reasonable arrest has been made.”

KWAM 1's Daughter, Honey B, Takes Off Her Shirt To Promote Her New Song

Top Fuji musician Kwam1 unleashed is daughter, Honey B, on the music scene in March 2013 with the release of her debut single, "UP Down." But it seem the young lady has chosen the part of 'nudity sells' as her works now go with very suggestive clips. See the video for Up Down below...

This Lady Went Through Hell For 15 Years To Get Pregnant and Have A Baby

After eight years of trying to get pregnant, years of praying, crying, anxiety and frustration, I decided to post a prayer request on a popular Nigerian church website. I think the subject was ‘when will I carry my children Lord.’ There were many responses to my prayer request but only one stood out for me. It was from a woman who asked if I had considered adoption as there were many children out there in need of parents.

Several emotions flitted through my mind after I read the comment; shock, disbelief and then anger...

Anger that she dared to suggest it, without even knowing me. Does she know my story? Does she know my pains and tears? What gave her the right to even dare!

I came to one conclusion – she must have children of her own and now feels she has the audacity to suggest adoption to me, how very selfish of her!

Like most young brides, I assumed babies would come once we were ready to start. My husband and I had agreed to wait for a year so I was not too concerned when I did not conceive in the first year of our marriage. However, I should have known something was wrong since I was not using any birth control device and yet did not get pregnant. Well, I was too comfortable in the euphoria of marriage to worry about it then. Looking back, I’m glad I did not start worrying right away. It would have robbed me of the early joys of marriage. I definitely worried for several years after that. It became the defining issue in my life and marriage. As if it that was not bad enough, I had to deal with all the looks, the glances from family members, colleagues at work and neighbors. This was not something I could hide or deal with in the quiet of my room.

Eventually, the stares and glances became questions and comments. Some were borne out of genuine concern and some were meant to ridicule. It seemed like everyone had an opinion on why we were unable to have children. We went for several prayer meetings and looked forward to the month when it would finally happen. Months rolled into years and years rolled into more years. Hope led to disappointment and disappointment became disbelief. Why would God let me go through this? Why would God let this happen to me? I could not believe this was happening to us. While trying to deal with all this, random people would offer suggestions that perhaps it was something we had done in our past that was finally catching up with us. Maybe an unconfessed sin, some evil that we deserved. It seemed everyone had a right to suggest a solution whether they were solicited or not.

I finally sought medical intervention ten years into our marriage and one of the procedures led to pregnancy. We were ecstatic; it was unbelievable, too good to be true. And indeed it was as I lost the pregnancy after six weeks. What! After all that, only to have the joy be short-lived! The pain was indescribable and can only be understood by someone who’s been through a similar experience. After the initial pain, we were ready to try again. We threw ourselves into more procedures and surgeries and two years after the first pregnancy, I got pregnant again! We were so excited, we finally have what we have been looking for and I thought I would be able to manage my emotions better this time around.

Unconsciously, I blamed myself for the first miscarriage – I assumed that it was the over excitement that caused it. This time around, I was going to be cool, calm and collected. Six weeks later, I knew something was wrong and in a matter of hours, my worst fears were confirmed. The pain this time was much worse, it was unbearable. I was simply inconsolable and I cried all the time. Nothing seemed to make sense. Along the line, I believe God allowed my path to cross with a woman who had a car accident and lost members of her family. She showed me her scars and I was jolted back into reality – it was not the end of the world. No far from it, for as long as I was alive, I could hope, I could dream. That encounter was the beginning of my healing.

Just when you think it could not get any worse, I was diagnosed with stage two thyroid cancer – I believe it was a side effect of some of the fertility medications. All of a sudden everything changed. All these years, I thought being childless was the worst thing that could happen to me until this happened. Having a child became a distant thought, and then I understood the meaning of that phrase ‘where there’s life, there’s hope’. All I thought about, prayed for and hoped for was to live. I went through surgeries and treatments and thank God everything went well. By God’s grace, I am alive and well.

After this medical challenge, I experienced a paradigm shift. My opinion about motherhood changed completely. All of a sudden it was less important whether I was able to carry a pregnancy to term or not. It really did not matter anymore; all that mattered was to have a child of my own. A child that would call me ‘mommy’. I no longer cared what anyone thought about me – God spared me and gave me another chance and I was not going to waste any more time crying. There were several children waiting for mommies and daddies and I believed this was something I was called to do. Adoption is not just my prayers being answered but also the prayer someone said for that little child being answered.

Today, my husband and I are proud parents of a beautiful baby girl. Our daughter came in the fifteenth years of our marriage, she was 10 months old when we first met her and she is the most beautiful thing that’s happened to us.

Adoption is a beautiful thing and I am fulfilled as a woman, as a mother and as a wife. All the years of praying eventually led us to this wonderful gift from God, a child of our own. Although not from our biological frames but very much birthed through our spiritual womb in prayers. She is every inch a daddy’s girl and our lives have been enriched because of her. Someday, she will read this story and she will understand how truly loved she is. So loved, that her mommy and daddy had to go through all this, before meeting her.

I dedicate this story to all those out there who have waited and longed for something so desperately yet it seems the more they search for it, the more out of reach it has become. Don’t give up – keep hope alive!

Pastor's Wife Caught Him Sleeping With Church Member During Counselling

35-year-old Pastor Segun Fasina on Monday pleaded with an Orile-Agege Customary Court in Lagos to dissolve his four-year-old marriage over wife’s alleged wayward life.

But his wife fired back in court, disclosing that Pastor Segun is an adulterous man and that she caught him in the act with a female church member, who came for counselling, on their matrimonial bed...

“My husband is adulterous. He counsels his church members at home, and I discovered that most of them are ladies. He was inside the room counselling a woman [one day] when I dashed in.

“To my surprise, my husband and the woman were both naked in our bed. My husband beat me and threw me out of the house. When I reported the case to his father, the man said, I should not disturb his son."

Pastor Segun of No. 4 Moses St., Alagba, Orile-Agege, Lagos had told the court that his wife, Abosede, had lost her sense of dignity, and is now smoking and drinking alcohol. He also accused her of being a gossip and troublesome.

“My wife, Abosede, possesses all the bad habits one can think of. She was accused of stealing a phone in our house. I believed she actually stole it because of her behaviour. She goes to other co-tenants’ apartments to gossip. And whenever there is any fight in the house, my wife’s name is always mentioned.

“As a pastor, I have prayed for her deliverance from the evil acts but my effort was in vain,” he claimed.

Insisting that his wife must go for him to start afresh, Pastor Segun saud, “Since the marriage is childless, we owe ourselves nothing. So, I want the court to dissolve the union.”

Abosede however denied all the allegations and pleaded with the court not to allow her husband make a divorce at such a young age.

The court warned them to maintain the peace till May 10 when it would give judgement.

EXPOSED: Nollywood Actress, Stella Damasus Secretly Marries Doris Simeon's Ex-Husband?

I don't want to believe this but the latest gist making round is that Nollywood actress Stella Damasus has married fellow actress Doris Simeon’s ex-husband, Daniel Ademinokan secretly.

According to sources, Daniel Ademinokan and Stella relocated to Abuja a couple of months back in order to strengthen their relationships. As we speak, the two have married each other in a secret wedding that took place outside of the country.
The lovers who now have several business investments together are living a low-key life in the Federal capital territory. It all started as a joke when the Nollywood movie producer started a business deal with the single mother of one.

Though they initially denied having an affair, it all came in the open during the launch of their Abuja- based boutique code 55. Previously, he was married to Doris Simeon and they have a daughter together:

My Shame: How My Brèast Popped Out On Stage -Omawumi Opens Up

In a male dominated industry like the Nigerian music industry, first runner-up at the Idol West Africa, Omawumi Megbele, has proven to be a force to be reckoned with.

Some music critics in Nigeria have likened her to the legendary Onyeka Onwenu, who the singer did a duet with recently.

When it comes to dressing, Omawumi mostly rocks short gown which barely covers the whole of her thighs and at some instances, the shoulder region of her body is always exposed. This sometimes revealed her tìts. While some believe she does that intentional to stir controversies, others believe Omawumi is only proud being a woman, which she attests to in a recent interview.

Pastor Steals Female Church Member's Pants In Lagos

The Nigeria Police on Monday arraigned 25-year-old Pastor Tommy Issachar over an alleged stealing of a married woman's underwear and N10,000 cash. The woman, Mrs Gift Bassey, is a member of the same church with him.

"The accused, a pastor of All Nations Evangelical Church in Oshodi, Lagos, was invited to a programme at the headquarters of the church which was the complainant's church.

"The complainant and her husband accommodated him (Pastor Issachar) in their house for three nights to conduct a special prayer session related to her husband's business...

The prosecutor Cpl. Kehinde Olatunde said, adding that after the pastor had left, the woman discovered that two of her pants (her only black and white pants), one black brassier and the sum of N10,000 were missing.

"In the process of finding, it was discovered that the said underwear were taken by the accused without the complainant's consent. At first, the accused (Pastor Issachar) denied taking the underwears but later confessed that he actually took them.

"He claimed that he wanted to use them to pray for her, but denied taking the money."

Cpl. Olatunde said that after the underwear was recovered from Pastor Issachar he had been sending series of threat text messages to the woman. "The accused always send her text messages, threatening to eliminate her on or before August ending," he added.

The offence was committed on April 12 at Mafoluku, Oshodi and contravened Sections 166 and 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

Pastor Issachar, who resides at 35, Mafoluku St., Oshodi, appeared before an Oshodi Magistrates' Court on a two-count charge of breach of public peace and stealing. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Section 285 provides that if convicted of stealing, Pastor Issachar is liable to three years imprisonment. The magistrate, Mr Akeem Fashola, granted him bail and adjourned the case till May 8 for trial.

I wonder why some Pastor's do these crazy things these days!
