A 34-year-old undergraduate of the Ekiti State University, Danusa Jimoh, has beaten his 31-year-old-wife, Mopeto death in Are-Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state. Jimoh, from Okene in Kogi State, according to the Ekiti State Police PRO,

Victor Babayemi, committed the act in the course of a domestic disagreement on July 3, 2012. The couple reportedly fought over the inability of the man to give the wife enough money for the burial ceremony of her late father. The suspect was said to have given the woman some amount of money she considered inadequate for the ceremony. Jimoh said his wife, who hails from Ijero-Ekiti, hit her head against a hard object while they were fighting and passed out. He revealed that he was usually having quarrel with his late wife over sundry issues and that on the fateful day, it was the issue of money for the coming burial event that led to a fight. He said his mother had to give the deceased some money to augment what he gave her when she said it was not enough to finance the burial ceremony, but that she was still adamant. The couple is blessed with a child... Jimoh is expected to be charged to court soon.

I am waiting for God’s time and it should no longer be late.” Those where the words of Pa Emmanuel Ashipa, a 143 year-old-man, while rejecting the prayer of a clergyman for him to spend more 'fruitful' years on earth. The centurion, who was spotted at a public function recently in Ogun State, polite turned down the pastor's prayer since he has already seen the good, the bad and the ugly sides of life. Pa Ashipa is a native of Iwoye Ketu in Ogun State.

NIGERIAN POLICEMEN GETS UN MEDALS FOR GOOD CONDUCT

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan has presented special United Nations, UN, medals to 34 Nigerian police officers for their exceptional performance in the discharge of their assigned roles in the troubled country. The award recipients, who included three women and 31 men, are serving in the UN peace-keeping mission in the troubled South Sudan. Decorating the officers with their medals, the Special Representatives of the Secretary General, SRSG, Mrs. Hilda Johnson, described the honour as hard earned, considering the enormous commitment and sacrifices the officers made in their efforts towards enthroning the rule of law in the newly independent state. On his part, Nigeria's Inspector General of Police, Mohamed Abubakar, commended the officers for their good conduct, advising them not to deviate from the core values of discipline, professionalism, selflessness and dedication to duties.

The situation got so bad in South-West states that it became a "normal thing" to see security officials take off their uniform in a bid to escape from "battle fronts". PASTOR ANSLEM MADUBUKO'S WIFE 'CONNIE' DIES OF CARDIAC ARREST

The pastor of Revival Assembly Ministries International, Apostle Anslem Madubuko, lost his wife of 28 years, Connie Madubuko, to cardiac arrest yesterday. Pastor Connie died at a hospital in Lagos where she was rushed to after suddenly developing heart complications at home. The mother of three was 54 years old.

12HRS CURFEW IMPOSED ON PLATEAU STATE

Following the series of coordinated killings in parts of Plateau State in two consecutive days, leading to the death of a Senator, House of Assembly member and several other innocent Nigerians, THE GIST PLUS gathered that Governor Jona Jang has imposed a curfew. The curfew cuts across four local government areas in the state, from 7am to 7pm till further notice. They are namely Jos South, Barkin Ladi, Jos North and Riyom. Sources told THE GIST PLUS that intelligence information had indicated that some group of youths in the affected areas were already mobilizing for a reprisal attack that could throw the state into religious war, hence the action. Droves of military and police personnel are said to be trooping into Plateau State to maintain peace.

PASTOR RUNS MADE WHILE DELIVERING A MAD MAN

Nigerians living around the Oke-Ado area of Ibadan, Oyo State, as well as shop owners and automobile dealers along Molete road in the town, on Thursday, watched a sad drama involving a pastor in the area and a mad man. The pastor, whose name was giving as Timothy, according to an eyewitness, got to Ososami junctions of Oke-Ado around 5.20 p.m and went to meet the mentally-deranged man, popularly known as Tunde, who was sitting in front of a building in the area. According to Semiu, a shop owner around the spot of the incident, the pastor began to read the Bible on sighting the mad man, while he moved closer to him and laid hand on his head. “At a point, there was a hot argument between the duo, which made the pastor to raise his voice as he was offering a deliverance prayer for Tunde, the mad man. The hot prayer lasted for over 15 minutes before another strange drama began,” Semiu said. Speaking further, another witness, an okada rider, said at a point, the mad man removed the pastor’s hand from his head, adding that “suddenly, a strange spirit got hold of the pastor and he began to remove his cloth. He was naked and laid flat on the ground, speaking a strange language, with foam oozing out of his mouth.” The mad man, it was gathered, initially left him in this position and sat at some distance away from the pastor, before the duo later sat closer to each other, while onlookers watched the strange drama. As at Thursday night, Pastor Timothy remained in the state of insanity.

PASTOR OKOTIE'S WIFE LEFT BECAUSE HE CANT IMPREGNATE HER

Strange things are happening in the world we live in and our youths just have to be careful the way the live their lives because there may be consequences. According to what First Weekly reported, Pastor Chris Okotie once said that Stephanie was destined to marry him from birth. “She was not particularly certain whether it was what God wanted for her. So I had a situation where I had to get the Lord to persuade her that He is part of this agreement,” Okotie was quoted to have said. But with the break-up after just four of marriage, many have queried if it was true Pastor Okotie actually heard from God that Stephanie was meant for him or he was just haEllucinating.

After his marriage to Tina, his first wife, crashed, stories began to fly that the funky pastor was having affairs with several ladies in his congregation. This went on for a long time until Okotie eventually married Stephanie Henshaw four years ago. Interestingly, Stephanie was a widow who had three children from two marriages. Rev. Okotie was her third husband. However, not much was known about the state of affairs of the marriage as the couple was seen severally at public outings, holding hands and displaying public show of affection until he made the declaration of “irreconcilable differences” during a Sunday service recently. Meanwhile, tongues have been wagging and public scrutiny had been beamed on the possible reason Rev. Okotie's second marriage crumbled. A very close source who claims to know Rev. Okotie well alleged that Okotie's marital problems stems from his presumed inability to father a child. “It's very difficult to push to the public, but the reasons Okotie's marriages are not working is because of childlessness. It's a private thing, and he is battling the problem. Tina was with him for about 17 years without a child to show for the marriage. That was why Tina had to relocate to America, and remarried. I even heard she has a child now,” our source disclosed. “A woman generally does not feel secure if she doesn't have a child for her husband, and especially if the man is seen or suspected of keeping other women. That is the issue with Okotie and Stephanie. I don't want to say more than this. Please,” the source stated. But, in his reaction, a member of the Household of God Church defended their Pastor, saying the insinuation is wrong. “It is a rubbish talk....is the person God? It's only Rev. Okotie and Stephanie that know the reasons they got separated, and we are praying for them. It is wrong to say Rev. Okotie can't father a child,” the source said.
