How FASHOLA Humiliated J. K. RANDLE

We are all aware that the race to the Alausa seat o power in Lagos State is getting hotter than ever before. At the last count, five governorship aspirants are jostling to unseat Governor Babatunde Fashola to become the next governor of the Lagos State, come 29 May, 2011. At the recently organized governorship debate by Channels Television, THE GIST PLUS heard how Governor Fashola humiliated Bashorun J. K. Randle, the governorship flag bearer of the Social Democratic Mega Party, (SDMP), in Lagos. As the story was told, at the debate, Randle, a chartered accountant, was alleged to have used the occasion to settle personal scores with Fashola, which led to the governor humiliating him. After that, Randle was never himself again. He basked in the euphoria of the ‘insult’ poured on him by the governor, which many analysts said the SDMP flag bearer deserved. It was said that Randle first attacked Fashola, saying that he has tried to see the governor for over three years now and has not been able to do so, questioning what type of people were allowed to see the governor, if he as important as he is in Lagos, and as a 62-year old man, could not see the governor. While replying Randle, THE GIST PLUS gathered that, Fashola revealed that he knew the case Randle was referring to, saying that he built his house on drainage and it was demolished, adding that for such issues, he had no need to have a meeting with Randle. So pained by Fashola’s revelation, Randle told millions of audience watching at home that he had received the worst insult from the governor and therefore wondered what morals Fashola was leaving behind since he could not respect elders. At the end of the debate, Randle refused to embrace Fashola or shake hand with him as he did to others.
